Ganesh carved on the bronze gateway, called Golden Gate
(Sun Dokha), one of most famous art work of the Kathmandu valley. This door, and the
55 windows Palace to which it gives access were built by King Bhupatindra Malla,
but were successfully achieved in 1754 only, under the reign of King Jaya Ranjit Malla.
This image of Ganesh, standing up in the wrathful posture, is really typical
of the 18 th-centuried Newari style. The emblems hold in the right hands are the
broken tusk and the mâlâ, and the axe and the sweets bowl in the left.
